GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS NO CENTRO DE ABASTECIMENTO E LOGÍSTICA DE PERNAMBUCO (CEASA/PE): RESPONSABILIDADE E TRATAMENTO

Resumo
Os resíduos sólidos constituem-se um dos grandes desafios da atualidade, seu tratamento e disposição final de maneira inadequada têm trazido graves consequências tanto na ordem sanitária quanto ambiental. Este trabalho teve como propósito avaliar o gerenciamento dos resíduos sólidos e o nível de participação e interesse dos stakeholders do Centro de Abastecimento e Logística de Pernambuco (CEASA/PE) a fim de atender às exigências legais da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS) e à Política Nacional de Educação Ambiental (PNEA). O CEASA/PE é considerado o maior centro de abastecimento do Norte/Nordeste do Brasil em volume de vendas, gerando, mensalmente, um total médio de 900toneladas de resíduos sólidos. Os resultados revelaram como responsáveis os comerciantes e a própria administração do estabelecimento. Entretanto, percebeu-se também que a limpeza é o último ponto que os clientes procuram no momento da compra. Palavras-chave:Resíduo Sólido, Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos, Educação Ambiental. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE CENTER FOR SUPPLY AND LOGISTICS OF PERNAMBUCO (CEASA / PE): LIABILITY AND TREATMENT ABSTRACT Solid waste constitute a major challenge currently, their treatment and impropriate final disposal have brought serious consequences on environment and human health. This study aimed to evaluate the management of solid waste and the level of participation and interest of all stakeholders at the Center for Supply and Logistics of Pernambuco (CEASA/PE) in order to meet the legal requirements of National Politics for Solid Waste (PNRS) and National Politics for Environmental Education (PNEA). CEASA/PE is the largest supply center of Brazilian North/Northeast in sales volume, generating a monthly average total of 900tons of solid waste. The results revealed that the merchants and the administration of the establishment were responsible.However, it wasalso noticed that cleaning is the last point that customers look for when they are buying.
