No ano de 2008 a revista Engenharia Ambiental completou o seu 5º volume publicado, quando se atingiu a marca de 102 artigos científicos. O objetivo do presente trabalho é o de realizar um diagnóstico de sua produção científica publicada. A metodologia empregada incluiu um levantamento dos autores, instituições de origem e temáticas dos artigos. Os resultados demonstram um total de cerca de 106 professores, 40 pesquisadores, 44 alunos de pós graduação e 65 alunos de graduação, representando por volta de 28 instituições de ensino superior brasileiras, duas universidades portuguesas, uma universidade chilena, quatro centros de pesquisa brasileiros e um centro de pesquisa americano. Os temas dos trabalhos se relacionam principalmente ao planejamento e a gestão ambiental, seguido de tecnologia ambiental. A revista vem se consolidando no cenário nacional, por meio da participação crescente de autores e instituições de todo o Brasil. Palavras-chave: engenharia ambiental, ensino, pesquisa, extensão.

In the year of 2008 the Environmental Engineering Journal completed its 5th published volume, when there was reached the mark of 102 scientific papers. The main goal of the present work is it of carrying out a diagnosis of its scientific published production. The employed methodology included a characterization of the authors, institutions of origin and themes of the articles. The results demonstrate a total of around 106 professors, 40 researchers, 44 graduate and 65 undergraduate students, representing about 28 institutions of Brazilian superior teaching, two Portuguese universities, a Chilean university, four Brazilian and an American research centers. The subjects of the works are related principally to the planning and the environmental management, followed from environmental technology. The magazine comes if consolidating in the national scenery, through the growing participation of authors and institutions of all Brazil.
