O foco deste estudo será a iniciação esportiva em Jogos Esportivos Coletivos (JECs) com ênfase na modalidade basquetebol. Acreditando que através da iniciação esportiva em uma modalidade podemos proporcionar um grande conhecimento da cultura e também da história da mesma, neste estudo pretendemos avançar para as possibilidades de se utilizar diversos esportes coletivos no processo de ensino e aprendizagem de uma modalidade especifica. Para tal, partiremos de uma discussão do processo de ensino aprendizagem dos JECs a partir das semelhanças entre os mesmos, tendo como principais referências Bayer (1994) e Garganta (1995). Na seqüência, iremos focar a modalidade basquetebol, a fim de exemplificar como outras modalidades coletivas podem auxiliar no trato com o basquetebol, da mesma forma que o basquetebol pode ser um auxiliar para os outros JECs. The focus of this study will be the team games initiation, with emphasis in the modality basketball. Believing that through the sport initiation in a modality we can also provide a great knowledge of the culture and of the history of the same one, in this study we intend to advance for the possibilities of if to use diverse team games in the education process and learning of a modality specifies. For such, we will break of a quarrel of the education process learning of the team games from the similarities between the same ones, having as main references Bayer (1994) and Garganta (1995). In the sequence, we will go to objectify the modality basketball, in order to show as other collective modalities can assist in the treatment with the basketball, in the same way that the basketball can be one to assist for the other team games.
