Este artigo tem como objetivo entender as mudanças no meio marcial japonês através das contribuições de Norbert Elias em seu Processo Civilizador. Para tal, refletir-se-á, na primeira parte deste trabalho, sobre alguns conceitos da obra de Elias. Na segunda parte, trabalhamos com alguns conceitos sobre as formas através das quais as mulheres afetavam e eram afetadas pela sociedade, principalmente suas interações no contexto político e marcial, dentro do Japão até o início do século XX. Em seguida, apresentar-se-á um pequeno histórico das artes marciais japonesas e, na última parte deste trabalho, estudar-se-á as correlações entre este histórico e o Processo Civilizador, apresentando em maiores detalhes as mudanças sociais no pós-Guerra que moldaram o Japão de hoje. This article aims to understand the changes in the Japanese martial through the contributions of Norbert Elias in his civilizing process. To this end, it will reflect in the first part of this work on some concepts of the Elias works. In the second part, we work with some concepts about the ways in which women affected and were affected by society, especially their interaction in the political and martial, in Japan until the beginning of the twentieth century. Then it will present a brief history of Japanese martial arts, and in the latter part of this work, it will study the correlation between this history and the civilizing process, showing in greater detail the social changes that have shaped post-War Japan today.
