O fenômeno esporte é um dos conteúdos mais aplicados na educação física escolar brasileira; alvo de constantes discussões dos pesquisadores e estudiosos do tema, este fenômeno será aqui abordado a partir da amplitude de possibilidades metodológicas que o mesmo oferece ao longo do processo de ensino e aprendizagem na escola, que agregadas a uma perspectiva educacional permitem a ampliação da intervenção do professor. À luz da pedagogia do esporte, serão discutidos os propósitos do esporte dentro do programa de educação física escolar; uma breve discussão acerca dos métodos de ensino e do estímulo de competências na escola através do esporte será encaminhada a seguir. Por fim, já nas considerações finais, serão contempladas as possibilidades de intervenção no e pelo esporte a partir dos referenciais metodológico e sócio-educativo.

The phenomenon sport is one of the contents more applied in the physical education pertaining to school in Brazil; target of constant quarrels of the studious researchers and of the subject, this phenomenon will be boarded here from the amplitude of methodologies possibilities that the same it offers to long of the process of teaching and the learning in the school, that added to an educational perspective allow the magnifying of the intervention of the professor. To the light of the pedagogy of the sport, the intentions of the sport inside of the program of pertaining to school physical education will be argued; one soon quarrel concerning the methods of education and the stimulaton of abilities in the school through the sport will be directed to follow. Finally, already in the final words, the possibilities of intervention in and for the sport from the methodologies and partner-educative views.
