Este trabalho teve como objetivos analisar o conhecimento de escolares de diversas escolas públicas em 20 municípios do Estado de São Paulo sobre as temáticas sobrepeso, obesidade e as doenças crônicas não transmissíveis, objetivamos ainda, verificar a incidência de sobrepeso e obesidade entre os escolares. Para análise do conhecimento, foi aplicado um protocolo específico contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas. Quanto as medidas de peso e altura foram aferidas com o auxílio de uma balança antropométrica (Filizola) com toesa e capacidade de até 150 kg, e dos resultados obtidos aplicou-se o cálculo (peso/altura2) obtendo-se o Índice de Massa Corporal de 658 escolares, sendo n=186 grupo feminino e n=174 grupo masculino do ensino fundamental e n= 159 do grupo masculino e n=139 do grupo feminino do ensino médio compreendo, abrangendo uma faixa etária de 09 a 23 anos de idade. This work not had as objectives to analyze the scholars' of several public schools knowledge in 20 municipal districts of the State of São Paulo on the thematic overweight, obesity and the chronic diseases transmissible, we still aimed at, to verify the overweight incidence and obesity among the scholars. For analysis of the knowledge, a specific protocol was applied containing open and closed questions. The weight measures and height were confronted with the aid of a scale anthropométric (Filizola-scale) with toesa and capacity of up to 150 kg and of the obtained results the calculation was applied (weight/height2) being obtained the Index of Corporal Mass of 658 school, being n=186 feminine group and n=174 masculine group of the fundamental teaching and n = 159 of the masculine group and n=139 of the feminine group of the medium teaching understand an age group from 09 to 23 years old.
